Updated Information on El Toro Shooting

Pineville, LA (December 22, 2023) – The Pineville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred last night at the El Toro Apartments located at 1701 Military Highway.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired shortly after 5:30 pm. Upon arrival, they located one individual who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Through the course of their investigation, detectives identified two individuals involved in the shooting and subsequently arrested them on charges of attempted second-degree murder. During the arrest, three firearms were recovered from the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.  They are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.

“We are grateful that the victim in this case is expected to make a full recovery,” said Chief Darrell Basco of the Pineville Police Department. “This was a senseless act of violence, and we are committed to bringing all those involved to justice.”

Cartez Dotson 36 years old of Alexandria.  He is charged with:

3 counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder

Accessory after the fact

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Terrance Partee 38 years old of Pineville.  He is charged with:

3 counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder
