The Uniform Patrol Division is the ‘back bone’ of the department and it’s largest bureau. The Uniform Patrol Division is the primary point of contact for most services available to the public. Officers assigned to this division perform preventative patrols and respond to public requests for assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The Uniform Patrol Division is responsible for patrolling all areas of the city, responding to calls from citizens, conducting preliminary investigations of all crimes, and enforcing both criminal and traffic laws. Officers in the Uniform Patrol Division are assigned to one of four distinct geographical patrol zones within the city.
