The Pineville Animal Control has made remarkable progress and has recently achieved “no-kill status”, as recognized by the Best Friends Animal Society, the nation’s leading animal welfare organization that tracks comprehensive data on shelter outcomes. This milestone reflects a commitment to saving the lives of every adoptable cat and dog in America’s shelters.

Lieutenant Edric Smith, along with Ms. Eden Oglethorp and her dedicated team, have worked tirelessly to ensure animals are well cared for while holding owners accountable for neglect.

The Pineville Animal Shelter is located at 1967 Monroe Hwy, Pineville, LA, and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

There are four ways to get involved and help continue this lifesaving mission:

  1. Adopt a pet and give them a forever home.

  2. Foster animals and provide temporary care.

  3. Help reunite lost pets with their families.

  4. Volunteer your time to support the shelter’s programs.

Your involvement helps keep lifesaving efforts moving forward, every little bit makes a difference!
