Property Custodian

The Property Custodian serves a critical function within the Pineville Police Department by managing all evidence and property collected during investigations. This includes receiving, cataloging, storing, and safeguarding everything from criminal evidence to found items. The position demands precision, accountability, and strict adherence to procedures to ensure the integrity and chain of custody are never compromised.

This role is essential to supporting the investigative and legal process, as well as maintaining the public’s trust in the department’s handling of evidence. The work of the Property Custodian ensures that cases are prosecuted with confidence and that property is returned when appropriate.

The Property and Evidence Division is overseen by Sgt. Jared Bennett, who ensures that all procedures are followed in accordance with department policy and legal standards.
