Chief of Police

Roy Fore

Chief of Police

Chief Roy Fore was born and raised in Rapides Parish, attending high school at Alexandria Senior High and college at LSUA.  After the conclusion of his college schooling, he decided to become a first responder by entering Emergency Medical Technician classes.

Fore eventually underwent the instruction to become a paramedic and served his community in this capacity by working for various local ambulance services.

In 1999, Fore was hired by the Pineville Police Department and later graduated from the Alexandria Regional Police Academy.  After graduation, he reported for duty as a patrolman where he spent four years on various shifts.

In 2003, Fore was offered the opportunity to join the Criminal Investigations Bureau where he worked as a detective, evidence custodian, and crime scene investigator.

After several years in the Criminal Investigation Bureau, he achieved the rank of Captain where he commanded the Criminal Investigation Bureau and S.W.A.T. Eventually, Fore was appointed Deputy Chief. Now, with the retirement of former Chief Darrell Basco, Fore was appointed Interim Chief of Police.

Chief Fore has been married for over 25 years and has 3 children, one of which is continuing his tradition of service as a law enforcement officer.

WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE

The Pineville Police Department dedicated to working alongside Mayor Bishop and the City Council to make the City of Pineville a great place to live, work and visit. The relationship between the police department and city administration has never been stronger. While many departments across the country are facing officer shortages, I’m pleased to share that we are only four officers short. Over the past several months, we’ve seen an increase in applications and expect to have these vacant positions filled before the next police academy. Our patrol division is the backbone of the department and remains well-staffed. Our officers are encouraged to engage with the community at every opportunity, not just during enforcement encounters. Building strong relationships through positive interactions helps foster trust, collaboration, and a safer Pineville for everyone. Our goal is to take a proactive approach to crime rather than a reactive one. A police department’s ultimate mission is to foster a safe, orderly, and thriving community, and we continue to uphold that responsibility. I am committed to serving this city with dignity, loyalty, and integrity. Thank you for trusting me to serve as your Chief of Police.
