Deputy Chief James R. Rachal is a graduate of Pineville High School and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Shellie, for thirteen years. They have four children; Taylor is a junior at Buckeye High School, J.D. is in the 6th grade at J.I. Barron, Justin is in the 4th grade J.I. Barron and Lacie is in Pre-K at J.I. Barron. Deputy Chief Rachal has been a member of First Baptist Church Pineville for three years. Deputy Chief Rachal enjoys coaching baseball for Pineville Ward 9 and travel ball for twelve years.
Deputy Chief Rachal began his law enforcement career in 1996 with the Pineville Police Department. During his employment with the department he has held numerous positions including Patrolman, D.A.R.E. Officer, Detective in the Juvenile Division and Crime Scene for eleven years, and also, as the Executive Officer of the Criminal Investigation Bureau. In addition to Deputy Chief Rachal’s stellar law enforcement career, he served sixteen years as the Pineville Police Representative on the Pineville Fire & Police Civil Service Board.
On September 26, 2016 Deputy Chief Rachal was appointed Deputy Chief of Services for the Pineville Police Department by Chief Don Weatherford.
