Deputy Chief Darrell Basco is a lifelong resident of Pineville. He began his career at the Pineville Police Department in 1994 as a Communications Officer and a Reserve Police Officer. He has worked in several divisions at the Pineville Police Department serving as a patrol officer, a patrol supervisor, criminal investigator. He has served as the training coordinator, Executive Officer of the Patrol Bureau and the Public Information Officer.
He is a 1989 graduate of Pineville High School, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Louisiana College and received his Master’s degree from Capella University in 2005.
He is a member of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement, a member of the Body Worn Camera Task Force, and currently serves as State President of the Louisiana Fraternal Order of Police.
He is married to Lynne who works at Adler & Pias and has one daughter Mallory who is currently studying at UL Lafayette.
